When are hunts available?

What is the weather like in May/June?
Maui weather is varied depending on what part of the island you are on. Averages in the 70-80’s during the day, with cooler temperatures into the 40’s and 50’s at night are common for upcountry where the hunting is located, so plan accordingly. It is recommended to bring appropriate sun wear to protect yourself from the heat. A full list of packing essentials will be emailed to participants after booking.
What is the main focus of these hunts?
These custom hunts are designed to be an immersive hunting experience catered to conservation and sustainability-based archery hunting on the island of Maui. You will be engaged in local culture while learning about island ecology and history. Each hunt is custom catered to clients for a unique and unforgettable experience.
Who are these hunts for?
Hunts are open to all archery hunters. Beginner to advanced skill sets will be accommodated.
Do I need experience with any of these activities?
It is asked that you have proficiency with your own archery equipment including bow, arrows, release, etc. prior to coming on this trip.
What are the physical requirements for these hunts?
There will be varied terrain for walking/hiking on this trip. It is requested that you have an average level of fitness to be able to carry your own backpack and bow when out pursuing animals in the mountains.
Are accommodations provided?
No, clients are asked to book their own lodging preferences in the general upcountry Maui area.
Where are hunts held?
Upcountry Maui, Hawai’i.
What’s the nearest airport, and is transportation included?
The nearest airport is Kahului, Maui (OGG). Clients are responsible for their own transportation in order to allow freedom in activities outside of guided hunt opportunities.
How many people will be on these hunts?
Hunts are custom to each client and can accept up to three people per hunt, although smaller groups may increase success rates.
Are meals included? (Meals and dietary preferences)
Daily fresh made lunches are included in each hunt trip, with a focus on quality local ingredients and farm to table culinary cuisine.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Please let us know when booking if you have dietary preferences.
How do I reserve a spot for a custom hunt?
Book your trip by adding the custom hunt to your cart and completing the checkout questionnaire to get started!
How many days will we be hunting?
It is generally recommended to hunt for 3-4 days for improved success rates.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your deposit to another participant. Participants responsible for difference in pricing if applicable. In the unlikely event that the guides need to cancel, you will receive a full refund.
What should I pack for these hunts?
Full packing list will be provided after booking.
Are there any additional charges?
Coolers/boxes are required for packing and shipping. 48-quart coolers are available for approximately $25 each, which can hold 50 lbs. or less as allowed by most airline requirements. Guides will provide experience and assistance as needed with packing and preparing meat for shipment. Gratuity is also appreciated.
Hunting Licenses and Tags?
Hunting licenses are the responsibility of the individual and must be purchased prior to arrival. We will go over logistics with participants after booking.
What is the cost of these custom hunts?
Each hunt is a custom experience based on client preferences. Once you submit your hunt request we will reach out to you to discuss pricing for your unique experience and goals. Payments are generally divided into installments and due in full prior to the hunt commencing.
What is the cost for meat processing?
Butchering, bagging, and labeling is included in the cost of the hunt. Our aim is to teach and guide you through the entirety of harvesting and processing an animal. All meat will be frozen and stored until your departure. Trophy preparation includes skinning and cutting the shoulder cape if desired or a European mount finished by one of our experienced guides for an additional cost. Do I need to tip my guide?
Tipping is greatly appreciated. 10-20% is standard.
Is airfare included in the hunt cost?
No, airfare is not included. Participants are responsible for booking their own flights.
Will I be charged interest or any fees for not paying in full?
No, the total cost is split into three payments without additional fees. Unpaid invoices after the due date will incur a $25 per day processing fee.
Do I need to be a certain age to attend?
Participants must be 18 years or older unless accompanied by a legal guardian or adult.
